At Phoenix Overland, it’s all about adventure, freedom, and pushing boundaries.
We are five guys with a shared passion for adventure, and together we are building Phoenix Overland from the ground up. Our goal? To organize unforgettable off-road expeditions, where every journey is a unique experience. With passion, we want to share that sense of ultimate freedom with others. Right now, we are working hard on our first route, with the aim of launching our first expeditions in 2025 and quickly expanding to new and exciting destinations.

Mark
As a veteran, Mark knows better than anyone what adventure and perseverance mean. After his military career and various entrepreneurial ventures, he lived with his wife Ashley and their son Riley in Curaçao for a few years. Now settled in Franeker, Mark is focused on his family and Phoenix Overland. Within Phoenix Overland, he sets the course and takes the lead on all things technical: from transforming off-road vehicles to customizing bullbars. Mark makes sure our jeeps are fully prepared to tackle any terrain we encounter.

Riley
Riley – son of Mark – has seen more of the world at his young age than the average person. No adventure is too wild for him, especially if there are dinosaurs involved. Riley is a mental motivator; he focuses on things that might seem insignificant at first, but ultimately make you realize that they are at the heart of what truly matters.

Wynand
Wynand has spent the last few years traveling to various corners of the world, but Mexico holds a special place in his heart. He loves nature and camping and is eager to share these experiences with others. As an organizer and guide at Phoenix Overland, Wynand ensures that every trip is an unforgettable adventure. In addition to his years of experience as a web designer, he’s passionate about photography and videography, using his skills during the expeditions to capture and share the best moments.

Diana
During his travels, Wynand met his girlfriend Diana in Mexico, who now helps guide the expeditions. Diana has a passion for travel, which explains why she has lived in several countries. Her love for nature and animals ultimately led her to earn her divemaster certification, after which she began working as an underwater photographer and guiding diving groups. With her adventures, she adds a unique touch to every journey. In addition to her cheerful company and delicious cooking, if you want to brush up on your Spanish, Diana is the perfect person to turn to.

Levi
Levi has had a passion for cars from a young age. As a certified auto mechanic, he works alongside Mark, maintaining and upgrading our 4x4s. Levi is responsible for ensuring our vehicles are always up to the task, ready to face any challenge and take us wherever we want to go.
Woodworking

Tom
Tom – father of Levi – is a woodworking master and runs his own company, Tom’s Woodwork. From cutting boards to complete restorations of burned-out villas, no project is too big or small for him. When asked to help with the interior work on our Jeeps, he didn’t hesitate for a second. His craftsmanship and keen eye for detail ensure that our vehicles are not only functional on the inside but also look attractive.
